Chats on the Porch

Everyday Ruralty

Earlier this morning, as I sat at my laptop, I heard the sound of water.  First I thought something was spraying water in the basement, then I realized it was sleeting outside.  So, like Patrice said, we will have to have our cup of warm beverage inside.

 1.  What is your favorite fruit?  Do I have to choose?  I like to eat fruit, but the less preparation the better.  I love berries!  I also like fresh peaches and plums.  I also, never turn down a good piece of watermelon.

2.  Wendell would like to know if you have ever been horseback riding.  I have, Wendell.  I rode a few times as a girl and I rode several years back in Mexico.  I always wanted my own horse when I was younger, but I knew my family could never have one.  So, I gave up on that dream.  I enjoy watching my daughters ride.

3.  Do you carry a small purse, a big one, or just a wallet?  My purse is rather large because I use too much for a small purse.  My purse is too large, so I never find what I am looking for.  I find money stashed in corners all the time.  I need a purse with lots of separate compartments so I have everything in it's place.

4.  If you could travel to one state for a day, which state would you go?  Arizona.  I haven't seen my younger brother for 6 years.  I miss him.  He hasn't met my youngest kids and I haven't met his wife.  I also have other relatives in Arizona as well as a few friends.

5.  What was your first car?  Oh, I bought my first car from my brother.  It was a Plymouth Arrow.  I was so thrilled to actually be driving, I didn't care what it looked like.  My second car looked much worse!

Thanks for stopping by again.  See you again soon.

  4. Thanks everyone. I hope I see him soon too. But, not likely for a while. They save up for a few years and travel to a foreign country. This year: Paris, France. A few years back it was Australia.

    1. The car belonged to my great uncle. After he died, my oldest brother bought it from my grandfather for $400. Then, my brother moved on to a truck and I bought this car from him for $200. Pretty good deal.

  6. We were leaving the house as the sleet started and my son thought it was the funniest thing while I was trying to rush him to the car before it got worse. Rushing a 4 year old is pointless and silly, when will I learn?! I just found you through Homesteading Quest and I also live in Northern VA. Super excited to find you and I am your newest follower :)

    1. Thanks for stopping by Alison. It's always great to find other bloggers nearby. I know Fairfax is nearby, but not sure where. I'm somewhat new to the area. :)
