Around the Homestead

We wrapped up another week, or nearly so.  Unfortunately, on the homeschooling front, we didn't get much accomplished.  I wish we could say we baked cookies instead, but that isn't true either.

See, hubby is home from work until he leaves for Africa in a few weeks.  He has been working overtime to get things finished around the house.  You should see his list...not much left on it.  I don't have 1/4 the energy he does.

This week we went from this:

To this:

And this:

To this:

We still aren't sure what we will do with the above space, but I will probably have some shelves put in and look to see about some doors.  It makes a great extension to our pantry, but will also be useful for those things cluttering up my counter.

Something else we have been putting a lot of focus into lately is this little creature.

We are beginning to wonder if she isn't a he.  Can you understand why?  She is the only one with a large comb.  She is also the only one with a bright red one at that.

Maybe you can see well enough to understand what I am talking about.  The other ladies don't have big combs at all, not even the other White Plymouth Rock.  What do you all think?

On my list for this next week is to make up some beef broth, bake cookies, and finish up our Nutcracker study for school.

What about you?  What's on your list of things to get done?

  1. How great to get some of those things accomplished. I love your new stove!

We aren't getting much done but I guess I'm ok with that. I'm hoping we'll get some baking done this week as well as some sewing.
